To consolidate the updating

October 24th - The stars are up!! The entire stand is up, all the stars are secure
and, best of all, they look good and work!! Tomorrow we will be setting up
the megatree mast. That will do it for all the heavy setup.
October 19th - Did some major coding on the website. Add some flash media and redid
the video page to make it load faster, more user friendly, a little
sleeker, and better quality video. And..............STARTED SETTING UP THE
CHRISTMAS DISPLAY!!!!! Got half of the cross and star apparatus on the
roof. Hopefully tomorrow I will have time to finish the other side. the
goal is to have the entire stand up and all 36 stars and the cross up
before Sat. That will complete the roof. We'll see.
September 21st - Finally! I have now finished all projects for this years display. I am
beat. I have been so busy that I slacked a little on updating the site,
but as the display assembly progresses I will be updating regularly
(mainly on
Twitter). Some of this years projects included: new mini trees, a
Bethlehem Star, New mega tree ring, 36 stars for the roof top, 4 new boxes
to assemble, 4 new songs to program as well al the reprogramming of the 11
songs from last year, and the stands to secure the 36 stars above the
roof-top (which is the one I just finished). I will start getting
everything ready and setting up the second week of October and if
everything goes well, I will have it up and running by Thanksgiving. I
also updated the website, including new banner, newly designed navigation
buttons and new formatting to make future editing easier.
February 16th -I spent the last week or so planning out
next years display. I have all the channels mapped out and am ready to
start programming. The 2009 display will have right at 100,000 lights and
128 channels!
January 28th -WOW!!! This hasn't worked out quite the
way I've planned. So many problems. To those who have emailed me within
the last month I apologize, I have had a little problem with my ASP server
and did not get any messages. Everything is back up and running now
though. Well, the entire site is overhauled. New videos page, new pictures
galleries, and completely revamped the projects pages. All that is left is
to finish my Mega Tree page and Christmas Facts page. Should be up soon.
January 17th -Well, I went to update
the website a little bit and wound up doing a complete revamp of the
entire site. Every page is being redone with an entirely new look. I hope
to have it finished up this weekend and finish updating my projects page
by the middle of next week. Then on to planning and programming for next
year. I can't wait!
January 1st - The lights our down for
the season. I hope everybody that came by enjoyed the display as well as
all that are viewing online. It was a good season. We had quite a bit of
traffic and a bus. No major issues and only two days of rain where I had
to shut the display down. Now comes the task of taking everything down
over the next week or so and putting it up in storage for another year. We
are already planning the 2009 display and hit about 7 different Wal-Marts
and a few Targets and bought about 40,000 more lights for next year
anywhere from 50-75% off. Then on a trip up to Flagstaff to visit the
snow, we stopped in Wal-Mart and picked up 9 4ft pre-lit trees for $4 each
to replace the mini trees from last year. Woo-hoo!!

November 27th -

to see them. It has been a ruff one. We have been setting up for a month -
most done in the first three weeks - all day on the weekends and at nights
after I get off work, but it's finally done. I will have pictures up soon
on my Pictures
page and facts about the display on my
facts
page soon. Hope you enjoy everything and have a great holiday.
October 26th -
Setup has begun. Last year we were burnt out by the time we
finished the front yard, so this year we're starting with the back (we
decorate the back mainly for family and friends and we also have a fairly
big party closer to Christmas). The backyard should be complete by the end
of this week then we'll move on to the front.
September 20th -Well, since
my last update I have been busy. Check out my
projects page to see what I've been
doing. I've completed my mega tree, cross and mini trees. Over the next
week I will be doing some last minute things to get ready then have a
three to four week break until the last week of October when I begin the
set up process. Check back then as I will be posting pictures and updates
as often as I can and, of course, VIDEOS when it's up and running.
July 7th - Began
building 8ft cross that will sit on the middle peak of my house. I will
have pictures and details on my Projects page when completed.
July 5th - Well, I
wasn't expecting it to happen this quickly, but I had some time on my
hands and after 23 hours in two days, the website is up. On to the next
project.
July 4th-- Now that all songs
have been tweaked a little we are extremely happy with the modifications
we decided to make. Now I will try to see if I can get my website up and
running before I begin my next project.
June 24th -- Testing went great
aside from a few minor fixes, however, my wife just had an outstanding
idea that I think will truly increase the impact of our lights (it's a
secret) so now I need to spend a couple days tweaking some programming.
June14th -- I spent this last
weekend setting up our lights on our back patio. It was just minimal,
enough to test all the channels. The only reason I'm doing this is simply
because I've never synched my lights before and I wanted to make sure
everything worked. Take a look at some

May -- EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!! My
new LOR controllers have arrived! This month will be spent putting them
together. Check my
pictures page for some pics
of the process.
Starting February thru May --
Programming of my lights has begun. I will spend the next few months
deciding what songs to use, editing them if needed and doing some tedious
programming to make the magic happen. Check my

page for a lineup of the songs I will be incorporating into my display.
