8 Foot Cross

footcross10.jpg

This is the Cross, at dry-fit stage. As you can see, it's tall! Gluing everything together can be tricky. The pieces, if glued in the wrong order, can be difficult to get together since the sections are small and don't allow for a lot of give. I found it easiest to take the Cross apart a section at a time and glue it a section at a time. Make sure you use primer on each joint to ensure a solid connection. You can probably use any PVC glue, but I like the Christy's Red Hot because it actually melts the plastic together. With this glue you could even glue the pipes while soaking wet and it will hold. I will try to explain the steps I took to glue each section. If it is difficult to understand, I apologize. Just take your time and think it through before you start gluing. If you think you might mess up, buy a few more connectors ahead of time, just incase.
